第一に、食品摂取習慣と還元型 CoQ10サプリメント摂取1年後の血清CoQ10値との関連を調査し、卵類、乳類、および大豆類の摂取習慣とCoQ10吸収の高さとの関連の可能性を示した。第二に、卵・乳・大豆類を含む食品に可溶型の還元型CoQ10サプリメントを懸濁し、昼食と一緒に摂取する試験を行い、味噌汁への懸濁が、バイオアベイラビリティを向上させることを見いだした。第三に、還元型CoQ10サプリメントの吸収に影響を及ぼす遺伝子一塩基多型(SNPs)を調査し、女性ではABCB1 rs2032582(G>T)、CD36 rs1761667(G > A)、CYP7A1 rs3808607(G>T)、および NPC1L1 rs2072183(C>G)の4つのSNPを見いだした。また、これら4つのSNPを組み合わせた遺伝子型によるグループ分けは、CoQ10バイオアベイラビリティが高く、かつサプリメントによる主観的QOL評価であるSF-36スコアの維持・上昇効果の得やすい人を選択できることを示した。\n
